Privacy

Last updated June 2026

Short version: we don't collect your data. Chessda runs entirely in your browser.

What we collect

Nothing. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party trackers. We don't have a server that receives your games, so there's nothing for us to store or see.

Your games stay on your device

PGNs you paste are parsed and analysed locally — Stockfish runs as a WebAssembly worker inside your browser tab. Your moves are never uploaded to us.

Importing from Chess.com / Lichess

When you import games by username, your browser talks directlyto Chess.com's or Lichess's public APIs to fetch your recent games. Those requests go to those services (not to us), and are subject to their own privacy policies. We don't proxy, log, or store any of it.

Local storage

We use your browser's localStorage only to remember your preferences on your own device — your theme (light/dark), board theme, and best-move-hint setting. These never leave your browser, and you can clear them any time via your browser settings.

Cookies

We don't set any cookies.
